How SMS opt-in works
Consent is collected inside the survey itself. A participant sees the question below, types their own mobile number and ticks the consent box. Nothing is sent to anyone who leaves the box unticked or the number empty. The consent wording, the frequency statement, the cost statement and the STOP instruction are shown at the point of consent, before the number is submitted.

What happens next
- The number and the consent are stored with that participant's survey record only.
- Only the reminder and follow-up messages for that study are sent, from a Take Study toll-free number.
- Replying STOP ends messages immediately and the number is added to our suppression list. Replying HELP returns contact information.
